Perhaps indeed Our Mother was indeed there that night

India/Nepal Tour 2015

Dear Yogis,

The Tour left Gorakpur boarding our buses and began the northern journey to Kushingar. It is hard to describe what it felt like to have two buses. Shri Mataji’s Poster placed against the front windshield and within our bus. The buses full of Yogis. Foreigners travelling together with local Yogis. Together as one band of realised souls taking to the pilgrim’s path through the lands of our spiritual birth.

Place our attention upon this sacred Earth

image1We shared our experiences as the beautiful Indian rural countryside rolled past our windows. Our Mother once asked that we place our attention upon this sacred Earth which remembers each touch of the Holy Feet of God Almighty incarnate. The Deities and the saints also walked upon this Earth. We should pray that this enlightened return to the Earth. To clear the mind of thoughts and allows the vibrations to settle the attention and take away our Western conditioning. That the positive application of our enlightened attention at these holy sites can reinstitute the pure vibrations and assist the seekers who visit along the path to their Self Realisation.

We travelled past forests dense with tall trees and beautiful undergrowth. Forests like this once covered India. Past fields full of crops, water buffalos lolling in the rivers to escape the heat. The simple people of the land filling the Earth. Villages made of dung covered mud brick with thatched roofs.

Site of Shri Buddha’s Samadhi

We arrived at Kushinagar, checked into our spacious Hotel and the departed to visit the site of the Shri Buddha monuments. The first was the site of the famous statue of the golden reclining Buddha. All the Yogis gathered around the statue and sang the Maha Mantras as well we mantras to Shri Buddha. The vibrations were not strongly felt when we arrived, but soon began to flow with the presence of the Yogis and the expression of our pure desire through mantra. We next visited the site of Shri Buddha’s Samadhi above which is situated a huge stupa constructed from brick. We walked around the stupa while Uncle Romel was sharing his deep knowledge of the deeper significance of the area and the avatars who had walked this Earth. His knowledge the historical and spiritual significance is both knowledgeable and profound. We arrived back at the Hotel for lunch, a little rest before departing for the program at rural village of Dharhara.

Previous Tour village programs

image2As we drove towards the village, the sun was setting lighting the broad expanses of wheat, the millet in golden hues. Farmers working the walls of their small dams to irrigate their fields. Boys were herding their goats home the night, others catching a quick game of cricket. Our buses pulled over by the side of the road and we walked along a dirt tracks. The men’s white Kurtas catching the setting sun, the scarves of ladies colourful Punjab catching the gentle early evening breeze.

We entered into the courtyard of Dharhara Village. For many of us it was like being transported 30 years ago to the glory days of travelling with Shri Mataji through Maharastra and helping to host programs for the simple villagers. The scene was exactly like on of the Indian Tour village programs. At the centre of the Village was a courtyard within stood a magnificent ancient fully grown Banyan tree. The huge expanse of the tree covered most of the building which had been erected as a quadrangle around the courtyard. A pedal elected under the tree leading to a simple elevated stage. The scene completed perfectly with fabric backdrop decorate with interconnected flower gardens. The villagers from all the surrounding region had already crowded into the space. Although not Yogis, men and the women were separately seated. The chairs reserved for their foreigner guests.  You could sense that we were perhaps some of the first foreigners they had encountered. Wide open stares from the adults, shy giggling children also brought back memories.

Prior to the program journalists from a number of local newspapers interviewed members of the Touring group about the group, why we came to India to perform and our motivations. We ended up giving them their Realisation which they felt immediately.

Received their Self Realisation with respect and sincere appreciation.

image3Sahaja Yogis from the local region conducted the program with introductory speeches, instruction using the chakra chart, using a long stick as a pointer. Then followed Self Realisation. All assembled, the old and young, including the children had very settled attention. Everyone sat totally still during the program. During Self Realisation, the mood was very deep as all assembled received their Self Realisation with respect and sincere appreciation.
The musicians then followed offering a varied performance of Hindi, Sanskrit and Marahti bhajan intermixed with English songs, and instrumental highlights featuring the violin, saxophone and Sandesh from Nirmal Sangeet on tabla. With little coaxing, the audience both men and women were dancing with joyous abandon. The journalists ended not returning to file their stories for the next day’s papers, but instead were waving to us from the midst of the group of new Yogis dancing with abandon.

Noble dignity

Sitting upon the good earth of India, above a sky full of stars within a deep night sky. Talking to the newly realised who are poor in material possessions but possess a noble dignity so inherent with most of the good villagers of India we have meet  over the years, it felt like Shri Mataji was there was us sitting on the stage, Perhaps indeed Our Mother was indeed there that night.
